Beyond Will

I went to my doctor's office the other day for a routine checkup. They're very modern there. They ask you to fill out your patient information using an electronic device with a stylus rather than old-fashioned paper forms. Nifty. Of course, there's that section where they ask you to report your patient history. "Please indicate whether you or an immediate family member has been treated for:" and then a long list of medical conditions, right?

So I was completing that section: "Hemophilia... NO, Tuberculosis... NO," and so on. Then I came to "Memory Loss... " and I honestly didn't know what to report. So I left it blank.

This doctor has a stethoscope and a clipboard, so she must know what she's doing.

While I was waiting for the doctor to see me, I came up with an amazing title for a book. As you probably know, book titles, especially novel titles, are a specialty of mine. (Click on the underlined link if you are one of the increasingly rare uninformed readers who doesn't know about my gift.)

BEYOND WILL is the semi-autobiographical (but fictionalized) account of what happens when a guy decides he's trying too hard, and simply gives up. When he decides it's never really going to happen for him, and maybe stop trying to force it, right? Just relax pal, okay? After all, the world needs anonymous losers, too.

So if you're not already thoroughly intrigued, I'll further tempt you by telling you what happens is God steps in with His Will, His Plan, and His Timing. And when that happens, my life... I mean a guy's life... really takes off!

And then there's another section of BEYOND WILL, that explores advanced concepts that I simply cannot grasp intellectually. I mean, a guy can't grasp. Er, to be perfectly honest, I don't remember. So maybe I'll just leave that section blank.
